Cell Organelles: Mitochondria

Mitochondria

This is a picture of the Mitochondria. The mitochondria is like the “power house” of the cell. It  creates energy for the cell. Before they create energy for the cell they take in the nutrients, break them down, and then creates energy for the cell. The mitochondria just float around the cell. The Mitochondria has three structures which are the outer, inner and the matrix membrane. I learned that a mitochondria can grow larger or combine with other mitochondria.

Reflection:
When researching I learned that the mitochondria can grow larger or combine with other mitochondria. I already knew the three structures of the membrane. It surprised me that some cells don’t have a mitochondria. Everyday we are always using the mitochondria because the mitochondria creates energy and we use the energy doing everything.

  1. Everything is in great detail, but in a simple way which is good.
    What are the 3 structures?
They have folds to increase surface area.
